Once upon a time, in a remote mountain village, there lived a village chief named Li Dashan. Li Dashan was a man of great integrity, and he always handled village affairs fairly and impartially, never favoring anyone. There was a fertile piece of land in the village that had remained uncultivated for many years. One day, two villagers applied for this land at the same time. One villager was the richest landowner in the village, and the other was a poor, widowed old man. The landowner, relying on his wealth and power, tried to bribe Li Dashan, but Li Dashan resolutely refused. He carefully investigated the situation of both villagers and finally allocated the land to the widowed old man because he believed that the old man needed the land more. The landowner was unhappy and made a big fuss, but the villagers all supported Li Dashan, and finally the landowner had to reluctantly accept the result. From then on, Li Dashan's reputation for fairness became even deeper, and the small mountain village became more harmonious and stable as a result.
