There was a tyrannical landlord in the village who abused his power, often seizing the villagers' land and collecting exorbitant taxes. Ah Qiang's family was poor and powerless to resist, so he could only watch helplessly as his land was seized and the crops he had worked so hard to grow were taken away by the landlord. But he never resisted, silently enduring everything. He knew that resistance would only bring him greater disaster. The villagers sympathized with Ah Qiang, but no one dared to speak up for him, as the landlord's power was too great.
