In ancient China, there lived a scholar named Li Bai, who was incredibly talented yet repeatedly failed the imperial examinations. One time, while traveling to take the exam, he was robbed and beaten by bandits. Filled with anger and injustice, he arrived in the capital only to find the examinations were over. He angrily ran into the streets, shouting his grievances to passersby, recounting his unfair treatment. Some sympathized, some thought him mad, and others believed he was seeking attention. Regardless, Li Bai continued to cry out his injustice until he collapsed, exhausted. A kind old scholar found him, took him home, and helped him file a formal complaint against the bandits. Through his efforts, Li Bai's plight finally gained attention, the bandits were brought to justice, and Li Bai received compensation. Thus, Li Bai’s story became a legend, and the expression “hǎn yuān jiào qū” became used to describe those who have suffered injustice and fought back.
