Origin Story

The market was bustling with noise, and hawkers' calls rose and fell. An old woman selling candied haws had a loud voice. As she skillfully strung the bright red candied haws onto bamboo skewers, she loudly hawked, "Sweet and crispy candied haws! Children who want candied haws, come and buy them quickly!" Her voice drowned out the calls of other vendors, attracting many customers. Not far away, a young woman was selling newly released scarves, trying to promote them with a gentle voice, but to no avail. Watching the old woman's booming business, she became anxious. She thought, if I also shout like the old woman, will I also attract more customers? She mustered her courage and shouted like the old woman, "Beautiful and fashionable scarves! Ladies and gentlemen, come and choose!" However, her voice sounded harsh and grating, and did not attract more customers, instead causing those around her to frown. Then she understood that simply shouting loudly does not bring good business, the right way of advertising is the key.
