During the Three Kingdoms period, Zhuge Liang, the prime minister of Shu Han, led a large army on a northern expedition against Cao Wei, engaging in fierce battles with the Wei army at Qishan. With excellent equipment and superior tactics, the Shu army won consecutive victories, pushing the Wei army back step by step. Zhuge Liang, having a thorough grasp of the Wei army's deployments, anticipated that the Wei army would be unable to withstand the Shu army's fierce offensive, and declared to the soldiers: "The Wei army's defenses are crumbling, and our army will soon seize Chang'an!"
