Origin Story

A fortune teller came to a small town, claiming to be the famous "Ghost Valley Master" who could predict the future. He set up a stall with strange objects, attracting many onlookers. The fortune teller started boasting, saying that in his youth he had traveled the world, predicted fortunes for emperors and nobles, and even helped a princess in distress. He also claimed to be proficient in occult arts, capable of controlling the weather, and omnipotent. Among the onlookers, some were skeptical, while others were captivated by his story. A young man approached, wanting a fortune told. The fortune teller stroked his beard and mysteriously said, "Your destiny is extraordinary, you will achieve great things!" The young man was delighted. Then, an old man came by, smiling, "Sir, I think what you’re saying is all self-aggrandizement." The fortune teller's face turned pale, and he quickly changed the subject. The old man's words awakened many to the truth, and people dispersed, leaving the fortune teller's stall deserted.
