Origin Story

Once upon a time, there was a hermit named Zhang Sanfeng. He was tired of the intrigue of the court and the hustle and bustle of the world, so he resigned from his post and lived in seclusion in the deep mountains and forests, living a life free from worldly strife. Every day, he traveled through mountains and rivers, enjoying the beauty of nature, living with birds and animals, and spending his days in leisure and peace. Sometimes he would gather herbs in the mountains, sometimes he would go fishing by the stream, and sometimes he would just sit quietly on the top of a mountain, watching the sunrise and sunset, the clouds gathering and scattering. He never worried about food, clothing, housing, and transportation, because he had a heart that was detached from fame and fortune. He believed that true happiness lay not in how much wealth one possessed, but in having a peaceful mind. He was like a free-floating cloud, drifting freely between heaven and earth, and like a wild crane, flying freely in the mountains and forests. He lived a simple and happy life, undisturbed by worldly concerns and unpolluted by the world. He was a true recluse, an object of envy in the eyes of the world.
