During the Sui Dynasty, the treacherous minister Yang Su spread rumors to consolidate his power. He fabricated shocking stories about demons and ghosts wreaking havoc, inciting panic and fear among the people. These rumors spread like wildfire, and many believed in the absurd tales. Even some officials supported Yang Su to secure their positions and even invented more unbelievable stories to please him. Society was filled with fear and insecurity. However, an honest official eventually exposed Yang Su's conspiracy, and his crimes were made public. The rumors crumbled, people realized they had been deceived, and calm returned. However, this terrifying experience served as a lesson to warn people against blindly believing unfounded rumors.
