Legend has it that a Taoist hermit, who lived deep in the mountains, cultivated and meditated all day long, day after day, year after year. His clothes were tattered, but his bearing was extraordinary, his eyes clear and bright, as if he had seen through the emptiness of the world. One day, a young scholar lost his way in the forest and accidentally encountered this Taoist hermit. Seeing the scholar's thirst for knowledge, the Taoist hermit took him back to his cave and taught him Taoist classics. The scholar followed the Taoist hermit and studied diligently.
