During the Tang Dynasty, there lived a scholar named Li Bai in Chang'an City. Since his childhood, he had been well-read and possessed exceptional talent. One day, he and a friend made a trip to the countryside. Along the way, they encountered an elderly man who wore tattered clothes and walked with difficulty. The old man told Li Bai of his hardships. He had worked diligently as a farmer for many years, but a sudden flood had destroyed his home and flooded his fields. Now he lived in poverty. Li Bai felt deep sympathy and repeatedly promised to help the old man rebuild his home. He immediately gave him all the money he had and pledged to continue to help him in the future. Li Bai's kindness moved the old man to tears, and he repeatedly thanked Li Bai. The story spread quickly throughout Chang'an, and everyone praised Li Bai's noble deed. The story of how Li Bai repeatedly promised to help the old man became a beautiful story in Chang'an.
