Origin Story
It is said that Emperor Wen of the Han Dynasty, in order to consolidate the border defenses, married a princess to the distant Xiongnu, and sent the eunuch Zhongxing to escort her. Unexpectedly, after arriving in Xiongnu, Zhongxing betrayed and served the Xiongnu by giving them advice and strategies. Envoys from the Han Dynasty mocked the Xiongnu's simple living conditions, noting their single tent. Zhongxing retorted by endlessly listing the shortcomings of the Han Dynasty, trying to cover up his own wrongdoing. However, his justifications were feeble, and he ultimately could not escape the Han Dynasty's pursuit.
