During the reign of Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty, an official named Li Shan was highly valued and entrusted with important responsibilities. He was sent on many diplomatic missions and handled major state affairs, making tremendous contributions to the prosperity of the country. Emperor Taizong praised him highly, calling him a "pillar of the state." Li Shan was honest and diligent, loved the people, and enjoyed great prestige among the people. He was strict with himself, kind to others, and deeply loved by the people. He often exhorted his descendants to serve the country and be useful people. His deeds have been passed down through generations and serve as an example of diligent service and love for the people in the Chinese nation.
