Origin Story

Emperor Taizong of Song Dynasty was a passionate reader. He ordered his ministers to compile the "Taiping Yulan", an encyclopedia containing over a thousand volumes and collecting a wealth of writings from around the world. Taizong read three volumes every day, even if he didn't finish them due to government affairs, he caught up the next day. Some advised him to take care of his health and not overwork, but he replied: “Reading brings benefits, I don't feel tired.” This story shows that reading is indeed beneficial.
