In the early years of the Northern Song Dynasty, Zhao Kuangyin, a general of Later Zhou, repeatedly made military achievements and was deeply trusted by Emperor Shizong. After the death of Emperor Shizong, the young Chai Zongxun succeeded to the throne, and the national strength declined. The Northern Han and Khitan allied forces invaded. Zhao Kuangyin was ordered to go on an expedition. When the army arrived at Chenqiao, Zhao Kuangyin's subordinates launched a coup, establishing Zhao Kuangyin as emperor, establishing the Song Dynasty. This coup marked the end of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, and the Song Dynasty was officially established. From then on, there was a change of dynasties, and the world enjoyed peace.
