As the sun set, the traveling caravan finally reached its destination—a bustling town. However, waiting for them was unsettling news: the town was struck by a plague, the gates were closed, and outsiders were forbidden from entering. Li Gang, the caravan leader, looked at his exhausted men and the mountains of goods piled on the carts, and felt anxious. He had hoped that this trip would be a successful transaction, bringing a large profit to support his family, but he had not expected to encounter such a difficult situation. As night fell, the town was filled with occasional mournful cries, adding to the fear. Li Gang tossed and turned, unable to sleep, pacing back and forth and thinking about countermeasures. His men were equally restless; they worried about contracting the plague, about not being able to sell their goods, and most importantly, about their families. Some suggested taking a detour and looking for other trading partners, but others feared that this would cost time and increase the risk of the journey. Li Gang knew that he had to make a decision quickly, otherwise, the entire caravan would face difficulties. He looked up at the night sky; a shooting star seemed to add a ray of hope to the restless night.
