Origin Story

Once upon a time, in a small village, a village chief election was held. There were two candidates: Old Zhang and Old Li. Old Zhang was over fifty years old, had lived in the village for decades, and was well-respected, with seniority and high status. Old Li was young and strong, with many new ideas to bring new development to the village. During the election, some villagers insisted on seniority, believing Old Zhang was more suitable. They thought Old Zhang was experienced and understood the village well. However, other villagers believed Old Li should be chosen, as they thought he was energetic and innovative and better suited to adapt to the times. Finally, after fierce debate, the result was announced: Old Li won. His election not only broke the village's long-standing tradition of seniority but also brought new changes to this small village. After taking office, Old Li actively listened to the villagers' opinions, boldly reformed, introduced new technologies and management methods, resulting in rapid economic development and significant improvements in the villagers' living standards. This story tells us that while seniority may seem fairer in some situations, it can hinder social progress. In modern society, we should focus more on ability and efficiency, rather than just relying on seniority and status to judge a person.
