During the reign of Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty, the court selected a group of young and promising officials. Among them was a young scholar named Li Bai, who was appointed as a Hanlin scholar. As soon as the imperial edict arrived, Li Bai packed his bags and rode his horse, traveling day and night to Chang'an. Along the way, he imagined himself taking up his post, displaying his talents before the emperor, and serving the country. Upon arriving in Chang'an, Li Bai went straight to the palace to meet the emperor. With his enthusiasm and talent, he won the emperor's favor and successfully took up his post, beginning his career. Later, Li Bai wrote many excellent poems for the court, making a significant contribution to the cultural development of the Tang Dynasty. His story of taking up his post quickly became a popular anecdote among literati.
