During the Three Kingdoms period, Wei and Shu clashed fiercely over control of Hanzhong. Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang sent the veteran General Huang Zhong to fight against Cao's forces, but they were defeated. Zhao Yun led his troops to the rescue. Cao Cao pursued with his army. Zhao Yun ordered his soldiers to open the gates of the fortress, lower the flags and silence the drums, and he stood alone before the camp. Cao Cao retreated and Liu Bei appointed Zhao Yun as the Tiger General, who was „full of courage.“
