Old Zhang was a carpenter with superb craftsmanship, quite famous in the village. When he was young, he always polished every piece of his work with great care, from material selection to carving, he was meticulous. Now, Old Zhang is over sixty, but he remains the same as before. He comes to his small workshop every morning and concentrates on his work. His tools, those chisels and planes that have accompanied him for decades, still shine with familiar metallic luster. Although his movements are slower than when he was young, his understanding of wood and his dedication to craftsmanship have not diminished in the slightest. Most young people in the village have gone to work in the city and rarely need custom carpentry work, but Old Zhang still insists on his craft, because he loves it. He believes that as long as he can make fine woodwork, he will feel fulfilled and happy.
