It is said that Xiang Yu, the King of Western Chu, was incredibly strong. It is said that when he was young, he could easily lift a cauldron weighing several hundred kilograms—a feat that was unmatched at that time. Once, when Xiang Yu and his subordinates were training outside the city, he casually picked up a huge bronze cauldron and easily lifted it above his head. Everyone present was amazed. Xiang Yu's action not only demonstrated his amazing strength but also encouraged his soldiers to fight bravely and establish glorious achievements for Chu. However, Xiang Yu's bravery was not blind brute force; his military talent was equally outstanding. He led the Chu army to many victories against the powerful Qin army. Later, "Lì néng gāng dǐng" was used to describe those with incredible strength and also to compare the majestic momentum and strong writing power of a work.
