During the Warring States period, the famous politician and thinker Mozi advocated for "universal love" and opposition to war, which caused him to be opposed by many. Among them, a debater named Gongsun Long, in order to raise his own fame, deliberately used various fallacies to attack Mozi's ideas in public, trying to discredit his propositions. Faced with Gongsun Long's unreasonable attacks, Mozi was not afraid, but used his profound knowledge and debating skills to skillfully refute Gongsun Long's fallacies and won people's recognition. This story later became the origin of the idiom "口诛笔伐", which is used to describe the use of words and writings to expose and criticize wrong words and deeds.
