The more, the better
Explanation
Duō duō yì shàn means the more, the better. It comes from "Records of the Grand Historian - Biography of Huaiyin Hou".
Origin Story
During the Chu-Han contention in the Western Han Dynasty, the famous general Han Xin made great contributions. When Liu Bang asked him how many soldiers he could lead, Han Xin replied: "Duō duō yì shàn (多多益善)". This shows his great ambition, he wanted to strengthen his army to quell the land quickly. But this sentence also implies risks, too many soldiers, also difficult to manage, prone to internal conflict. It tells us that in the process of development, while "Duō duō yì shàn", we must also weigh the pros and cons according to the actual situation.
