Origin Story
It is said that during the Tang Dynasty, a famous poet named Li Bai came to a beautiful mountain valley one day to write a poem. He found that there were no paper and pens nearby, so he had a sudden inspiration: why not use local materials? He looked around and found many dense bamboo trees growing in the valley, so he cut down some bamboos, used a knife to cut the bamboo into thin pieces, and then soaked them in mountain spring water to make them soft, before drying them. Then, he ground the stones he found in the valley into ink, and used his homemade bamboo strips to dip in the ink and began to write. In the end, he wrote a beautiful poem, and recorded it with these unique materials—a true example of making use of local resources.
