传说中，一位名叫画眉的女子，生得眉目清秀，气质脱俗。她从小热爱绘画，常常在山间田野写生，并将自己的容貌融入画中。有一天，一位隐士路过，见她眉目如画，惊为天人，便收她为徒，传授她更高深的绘画技艺。画眉的技艺日益精进，她的画作栩栩如生，令人叹为观止。人们都说，她的眉目，就如同她笔下的画卷一般，美得令人窒息。后来，人们便用“眉目如画”来形容容貌秀丽的人。
