很久以前，在一个山清水秀的小村庄里，住着两个家族，他们世世代代生活在这里，彼此之间却一直存在着隔阂和矛盾。这两个家族都以务农为生，土地资源有限，常常因为田地界限不清而发生争执，甚至大打出手。 有一天，一位德高望重的老人来到村里，他看到这两个家族的冲突，感到非常痛心。老人是一位智者，他懂得如何化解矛盾，促进和谐。他召集两个家族的族长，耐心地劝说他们放下成见，互相理解。 老人说："土地有限，但人心无限。你们与其争斗不休，不如携手合作，共同发展。想想看，如果你们能够互相帮助，共同努力，你们的收获会更多，生活也会更好。" 老人还讲了一个故事，故事中讲到两个国家因为互相猜忌，最终走向了战争，最终两败俱伤，人民流离失所，土地荒芜。他告诫这两个家族，要吸取教训，不要重蹈覆辙。 老人一番话，让两个家族的族长深受触动。他们意识到自己之前的行为是多么愚蠢。他们决定放下成见，互相合作，共同发展。从此以后，这两个家族和睦相处，共同建设家园，过上了幸福的生活。 这个故事告诉我们，无论是在家庭、社会还是国家之间，讲信修睦都是非常重要的。只有互相尊重，互相理解，互相合作，才能创造美好的未来。
Long ago, in a beautiful village, lived two families who had lived there for generations but always had conflicts. Both families were farmers, land resources were limited, and there were frequent disputes over unclear land boundaries, even fights. A wise old man came to the village one day. Seeing these conflicts, he felt very sad. He was a wise man who knew how to resolve conflicts and promote harmony. He called the heads of the two families together and patiently persuaded them to let go of their prejudices and understand each other. The old man said, "Land is limited, but people’s hearts are unlimited. Instead of fighting endlessly, you should cooperate and develop together. Imagine, if you help each other and work together, you will have a better harvest and life." He also told a story about two countries that distrusted each other, eventually going to war and ending up in ruin, with people displaced and land deserted. He warned the families to learn their lesson and not to repeat the mistakes of the past. The old man’s words touched the heads of both families deeply. They realized how foolish their past behavior had been. They decided to let go of their prejudices, cooperate, and develop together. From then on, the two families lived in harmony, jointly building their home, and lived a happy life. This story teaches us that trust and harmony are essential in families, society, and between countries. Only with mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation can we create a better future.
