Yan Ying was sent on a mission to Qin, and he assured the king of Qi that he would complete the mission and would give a detailed report after returning. In Qin, Yan Ying successfully completed the mission, but he concealed some important matters from the king of Qi upon his return. The king of Qi was very angry and felt that Yan Ying had broken his promise and betrayed his trust, so he demoted him.
