Origin Story
During the Tang Dynasty, there was a talented scholar named Li Bai. In his youth, he traveled widely, hoping to gain employment in the imperial court. One day, he arrived in Chang'an and heard that the prime minister, Zhang Jiuling, was a discerning man, so he went to visit him. However, Zhang Jiuling was busy with state affairs at the time and gave Li Bai's arrival a disdainful glance, merely having his attendants dismiss him. Li Bai did not give up; he believed that his talent would eventually be recognized. He continued his travels, writing many poems that would later become classics, eventually making a name for himself. Later, Zhang Jiuling heard of Li Bai's achievements and regretted his earlier disregard, but it was too late. This story teaches us not to underestimate anyone easily because you never know what achievements he or she will make in the future.
