话说唐朝年间,长安城外住着一位老秀才,他一生醉心于诗词歌赋,却屡试不第。一日,他偶然间得到一本古籍,里面记载着一些奇特的修炼方法,据说可以让人长生不老。老秀才欣喜若狂,立即闭门修炼。从此,他便消失在茫茫人海之中,不知去向。有人说他飞升成仙了,也有人说他隐居山林了,更有甚者,说他被妖怪抓走了,说法不一,众说纷纭。总之,这位老秀才最终不知去向,只留下一个充满神秘色彩的故事,在长安城外流传至今。
During the Tang Dynasty, an old scholar lived outside Chang'an City. He devoted his life to poetry and songs, but repeatedly failed the civil service examinations. One day, he accidentally obtained an ancient book that recorded some peculiar cultivation methods, which were said to make people immortal. The old scholar was overjoyed and immediately closed himself off to practice. From that day on, he disappeared into the vast ocean of people, his whereabouts unknown. Some people say he ascended to heaven, others say he retired to the mountains, and still others say he was captured by a monster. There are various versions of the story. In short, the old scholar finally disappeared, leaving only a story full of mystery that has been passed down in Chang'an to this day.
