从前,在一个偏僻的小山村里,住着一个名叫小石的年轻人。他勤劳善良,每天辛勤劳作,却从不张扬。他种的田总是村里最好的,养的鸡总是村里最肥的,但他从不炫耀自己的成就。日子一天天过去,小石依然过着平静的生活,村里的人们习惯了他的沉默寡言,渐渐地,他变得不见经传。有一天,县里来了一位官员,要挑选一位能人来管理村里的事务。村长左思右想,突然想起小石,便把他推荐给了官员。官员来到小石家,看到他勤劳朴实,做事认真负责,非常满意,当场就决定任命他为村长。小石当上村长后,仍然勤勤恳恳,为村民们做了许多好事,最终成为远近闻名的良吏。从此,这个以前不见经传的小村庄也因他而闻名遐迩。
Once upon a time, in a remote mountain village, there lived a young man named Xiaoshi. He was diligent and kind, working hard every day, but never showing off. His fields were always the best in the village, and his chickens were always the fattest, but he never boasted about his achievements. As the days went by, Xiaoshi continued to live a peaceful life. The villagers got used to his silence and reticence, and gradually, he became unknown. One day, an official from the county came to select a capable person to manage the village affairs. The village head thought hard and suddenly remembered Xiaoshi, so he recommended him to the official. The official came to Xiaoshi's house, saw his diligent and honest character, his serious and responsible work, and was very satisfied. He immediately decided to appoint him as the village head. After Xiaoshi became the village head, he still worked diligently and did many good things for the villagers, eventually becoming a well-known good official. From then on, this previously unknown small village also became famous because of him.
