Origin Story
战国时期，齐国有个富豪叫猗顿，他经商致富，积累了大量的财富。但是，猗顿为人吝啬，刻薄寡恩，对穷人毫不怜悯，甚至为了赚钱不择手段，许多人因此被他坑害。他死后，人们评价说他为富不仁，他的财富并没有给他带来好名声，反而遗臭万年。 另一个故事发生在魏国。有一个叫吕不韦的商人，他凭借自己的聪明才智和不择手段，积累了巨额财富，成为当时最富有的人之一。然而，他为了巩固自己的权势，不惜陷害他人，甚至参与政治阴谋。最终，他因权势倾轧而落得悲惨下场，也成为为富不仁的典型案例。 这两个故事都体现了为富不仁的危害。财富的积累不应该以牺牲他人的利益为代价，拥有财富的同时更应该承担社会责任，做一个对社会有贡献的人，才能真正拥有幸福的人生。
During the Warring States period, there was a wealthy man named Yīdùn in the state of Qi, who became rich through business and accumulated a great deal of wealth. However, Yīdùn was stingy, callous, and merciless towards the poor; he even resorted to any means to make money, and many were harmed by him. After his death, he was described as an example of being rich but unfeeling; his wealth did not bring him a good reputation but rather lasting infamy. Another story took place in the state of Wei. A merchant named Lǚ Bùwéi, through his wit and unscrupulous methods, accumulated a huge fortune and became one of the richest men of his time. Yet, to consolidate his power, he did not hesitate to frame others and even participated in political conspiracies. Ultimately, he suffered a tragic end due to power struggles, becoming a classic example of being rich but ruthless. Both stories demonstrate the dangers of being rich but unfeeling. The accumulation of wealth should not come at the expense of others; possessing wealth should also entail social responsibility. One must contribute to society to truly live a happy life.
