Explanation
Describes repeated calls and urging.
Origin Story
When Bai Juyi was demoted to Jiangzhou, he was passing by the Xunyang River and saw a pipa playing on a boat. The music was graceful and enchanting, but the pipa player hid her face behind her instrument and hesitated to show herself. Only after much persuasion did she finally play and tell them about her life. This scene of her appearing after much anticipation reflects her reluctance and hesitation.
