In 220 AD, the Three Kingdoms of Wei, Shu, and Wu stood in a state of tripartite stand-off, leading to widespread chaos and suffering for the people. This was a time of turmoil, marked by relentless warfare and immense hardship. Zhuge Liang, during the Shu Han period, worked diligently, but he could not fundamentally change the situation. The Wei kingdom's power grew steadily, and both Shu Han and Wu faced immense pressure. Intrigue was rampant, and rebellions and wars broke out repeatedly, causing great instability, and the people suffered greatly. History records many heroes from this era; tales of loyal patriots sacrificing their lives for their country, and unscrupulous individuals seizing power. Folk tales and legends also abound from this time. It was a time of upheaval, but also one of hope. Despite the challenges, it held the promise of new vitality and opportunity.
