Origin Story

hěn jiǔ yǐqián, zài yīgè xiǎoshān cūn lǐ, zhùzhe yī wèi míng jiào xiǎoyǔ de gūniang

Long ago, in a small mountain village, lived a girl named Xiaoyu. Xiaoyu was naturally sentimental. She liked to sit by the window, watching the falling snow outside and listening to the gentle whispers of the wind, and her heart would be filled with inexplicable sadness. She often cried silently in front of the mirror, shedding tears for her vague sorrows. The villagers found her strange, and some even said she was crazy. But Xiaoyu didn't care about other people's opinions. She remained immersed in her own world, feeling her delicate emotions and experiencing the ups and downs of life. One day, a Taoist priest who traveled around came to the village, he saw Xiaoyu, and he came forward and chatted with Xiaoyu. The Taoist asked Xiaoyu, "Girl, why are you always so sad?" Xiaoyu replied, "I don't know. I seem to be born this way, I'm easily saddened by small things." The Taoist smiled and said, "Actually, the road of life is full of all kinds of challenges. We can't always be smooth sailing, and we will always encounter setbacks and difficulties. But we can't always indulge in sadness. We must learn to be strong and learn to bravely face the challenges of life. If you are always sentimental, then you will lose a lot of happiness, you will miss a lot of beautiful things." Xiaoyu was enlightened by the Taoist's words. She began to try to change herself, she no longer indulged in sadness, she began to actively participate in the village's activities, and made more friends. She found that life wasn't just sadness, there were many beautiful things worth cherishing. From then on, Xiaoyu became much more cheerful. She was no longer sentimental, she learned to face life with a positive and optimistic attitude, to enjoy every bit of life.
