Once upon a time, in a remote mountain village, there lived a kind villager named Lao Zhang. He was hardworking and honest all his life, willing to help others, and deeply loved by his fellow villagers. However, there also lived an infamous bully in the village, Mr. Li, who oppressed the people and did all sorts of evil deeds; the villagers hated him from the bottom of their hearts. One day, when Mr. Li was doing evil again, he happened to be met by Lao Zhang. Lao Zhang righteously admonished Mr. Li to change his evil ways, do good, and benefit the people. Mr. Li not only refused to listen, but also became even more angry and threatened to kill Lao Zhang. Lao Zhang was not afraid of power and continued to argue with Mr. Li, until Mr. Li finally left in anger. The villagers were all worried about Lao Zhang and feared that Mr. Li would retaliate against him. However, that very night, a sudden storm swept through the entire village; there was lightning and thunder in the sky, and it was deafening. The villagers all sought shelter and were terrified. Then, to everyone's surprise, Mr. Li's house was struck by a thunderbolt and instantly turned to ashes. Mr. Li also died as a result. The villagers believed that this was the punishment of heaven for Mr. Li, that Lao Zhang's honesty and kindness had moved heaven, and that the evildoer had received his just deserts. From that day on, the story of "Tian Da Lei Pi" spread throughout the village; the villagers revered heaven even more and believed even more firmly that justice would ultimately prevail over evil.
