Long ago, in a remote mountain village, lived a young carpenter named Xiaoming. He had always been fascinated by machinery, often disassembling and repairing the old furniture in his house and trying to improve them. One day, Xiaoming had a whimsical idea: he decided to build a pair of wooden wings that could allow him to fly. The villagers thought he was crazy and believed this was impossible. But Xiaoming didn’t give up. He gathered various materials and worked day and night on his project. He studied the design of birds' wings and combined his understanding to repeatedly improve the design drawings. After months of effort, Xiaoming finally completed his wooden wings. It was a complex structure made of lightweight wood and strong ropes, with several simple pulley systems installed. When Xiaoming first put on the wooden wings, he was very excited. He ran to a small hill outside the village, took a deep breath, and then jumped hard, flapping his wings and trying to fly. However, contrary to expectations, the wooden wings couldn't make him fly, and he fell heavily to the ground, sustaining minor injuries. Despite this failed attempt, Xiaoming didn't lose heart. He summarized the lessons learned from his failures and continued to improve his design. He believed that the wooden wings were too heavy, and he needed to reduce their weight and add some lift devices. After constant effort and improvement, Xiaoming finally managed to create a pair of wooden wings that could allow him to fly briefly. He flew, although only for a few seconds, but it was enough to make him extremely excited. He had accomplished his whimsical dream.
