In the Tang Dynasty, there was a poet named Li Bai, whose talent and fame spread throughout the land. One day, while drinking with a friend, he suddenly heard someone calling outside. It turned out to be court officials who had come to summon him to serve in the court. Although Li Bai had ambitions to serve the world, he disliked constraints, and the intrigues of the court filled him with disgust. Seeing Li Bai's hesitation, the officials resorted to coercion and inducements, praising his talent and promising high office and wealth, while implying imprisonment if he refused. Li Bai was torn, his heart in conflict. He knew the dangers of the court, but he also longed to use his talents to serve the country. In the end, he politely declined the officials' invitation, choosing to continue his life of poetry and leisure. The officials left disappointed. This story highlights Li Bai's strong personality, his defiance of authority and commitment to himself.
