During the Tang Dynasty, there was a corrupt official who oppressed the people and acted tyrannically. The people suffered greatly and submitted numerous complaints. When the emperor learned about this, he was furious and ordered the official to be dismissed and his property confiscated. The official was executed, his possessions were seized, and his family was expelled from their home. They lived in misery and never had the chance to recover.
