Origin Story

Once upon a time, there was a farmer in Song State who was worried that his rice seedlings were not growing fast enough. He went to the field every day to check on them. After a few days, nothing had changed. He became impatient and decided to help the plants grow himself. He pulled each plant a little higher, then went home and proudly told his son that he had made the plants grow. When the son went to the field, he found that all the plants had withered.
