Once upon a time, in a remote village, lived an old doctor known for his superb medical skills. One day, a young traveling doctor came to the village, boasting of his superior medical abilities, and challenged the old doctor to a contest. The old doctor, unwilling to engage in a competition, agreed only under the villagers' insistence. On the day of the contest, the young doctor presented various rare and exotic herbs, creating a spectacle that captivated the villagers' attention. In contrast, the old doctor used only a few simple herbs to cure a villager's intractable illness. Unsatisfied, the young doctor presented his own concoction, claiming it could cure any ailment. The old doctor, knowing that the concoction contained a deadly poison, chose to intervene, exposing the danger and saving the villagers from a potential catastrophe. He acted in a way that can be described as 'mingzhi gufan'.
