Origin Story

In the Tang Dynasty, there was a poet named Li Bai whose works are still passed down today. Once, he attended a court banquet. He saw many high-ranking officials in gorgeous clothes and arrogant manners, and secretly despised them. The emperor ordered Li Bai to improvise a poem. Li Bai, without hesitation, wrote a magnificent poem that described the prosperity of the Tang Dynasty but also satirized the vanity of the world. The court was impressed. Li Bai smiled faintly, and his gaze showed contempt for everything. He seemed to stand above worldly things and ignore the riches and glory, for he possessed something greater: his poetry. His arrogance did not stem from disdain for the powerful, but from his relentless pursuit of his ideals. He did not despise everyone; rather, he possessed exceptional talent and strong character, which allowed him to ignore worldly matters and focus on his poetic creations.
