During the Tang Dynasty, there was a scholar named Li Bai. He was young, talented, and gifted, and was highly regarded by the emperor. He married a virtuous and beautiful woman named Wang Zhaojun. After their wedding, they were very much in love and lived a happy life. However, as time went on, Li Bai had to spend a long time abroad for his work, so he rarely saw his wife. Wang Zhaojun missed her husband every day at home and felt lonely and unhappy. One day, Wang Zhaojun was admiring the flowers in her garden when she accidentally noticed a red apricot that protruded from the wall. Its beauty moved her to tears, and she sighed as she thought of her husband far away. At that moment, her young cousin came to visit her. The two chatted lively in the garden, and gradually they developed feelings for each other. Wang Zhaojun's affair quickly became known in the neighborhood, and when Li Bai found out, he was heartbroken. He could not accept his wife's betrayal and ultimately chose to divorce her and retire to the mountains. Later, Li Bai wrote about his painful experience in his poems. In this story, the red apricot that sticks out of the wall is no longer just a simple natural phenomenon, but a symbol of the breakdown of a marriage and the infidelity of one spouse.
