Explanation

Talking nonsense without any basis or reason.
Origin Story
Once upon a time, in a remote mountain village, there lived a young man named Zhang San who loved to tell tall tales. Zhang San enjoyed boasting and often fabricated bizarre stories to attract attention. One day, a merchant from another region came to the village. To show off his knowledge, Zhang San began to talk nonsense, bragging about his travels to distant lands and his encounters with strange things. He vividly described how he wrestled with tigers, how he stole treasures from the Dragon Palace, and how he befriended gods… His stories were lively and interesting, but full of inconsistencies and unbelievable details. The villagers were initially captivated, but gradually realized that Zhang San's narratives were pure fantasies, and expressed their doubts. The merchant saw through Zhang San's charade, smiled scornfully, and exposed his lies. After Zhang San's lies were revealed, he felt very embarrassed and never dared to talk nonsense again. From then on, the villagers took Zhang San's story as a warning and no longer readily believed unfounded boasts, instead placing more importance on facts and evidence.
