See hunting, heart happy
Explanation
When you see others do what you like, you feel happy and want to try it too. Describes the excited mood when you see something you like.
Origin Story
Cheng Hao, a famous Neo-Confucian scholar of the Northern Song Dynasty, loved hunting in his youth. Later, he devoted himself to academics and abandoned this hobby. Twelve years later, while traveling, he encountered hunters hunting, and immediately felt an irresistible urge, but remembering the words of his friend Zhou Maoshu, that this hobby would not disappear, he suppressed his impulse and continued on his way. Cheng Hao's story shows that even after many years of giving up a hobby, the former pleasure, once reawakened, can still emerge spontaneously. This is just as the idiom 'jian lie xin xi' describes, not simply the joy of seeing hunting, but a revival of a past love and a recognition of one's own past.
