During the Ming Dynasty, there was an official named Li Cheng who initially upheld justice and served the people wholeheartedly, earning their deep respect. However, as time went on, Li Cheng gradually lost his way. He began to use his position to accept bribes and embezzle public funds. Initially, he only accepted small sums, but later his boldness grew, and the amounts he embezzled became increasingly larger. He used the embezzled money to build luxurious mansions, buy rare treasures, and live a life of extravagant luxury. Li Cheng’s actions were eventually uncovered by a censor. He was arrested and imprisoned, and when his house was searched, countless possessions were found, leading the people to realize that their esteemed Li Cheng was such a greedy person.
