He was skilled in various arts, including music, board games, calligraphy, and painting, and could compose poems and songs effortlessly. One day, during an excursion to a garden, he met an elegant and cultured lady named Cui Ping. They fell in love instantly and embarked on a passionate romance. Liu's poems often contained allusions to Cui Ping, and many of Liu's exquisite paintings adorned Cui Ping's room. Their love story spread throughout the town and became a well-known anecdote.
