During the Three Kingdoms period, Zhuge Liang, the chancellor of Shu Han, led his troops on several campaigns to conquer the central plains. The soldiers were exhausted. Zhuge Liang, knowing the importance of resting and recuperating, ordered a temporary truce. The army camped in the rear, allowing the soldiers to rest, recover their strength, and undergo intensive training. During this time, the soldiers were well-rested, their spirits high, their bodies strong, and their morale boosted. Zhuge Liang utilized this time to carefully study the military deployments of Cao Wei and to formulate more comprehensive battle plans. Several months later, the Shu army, having recuperated and with high morale, once again launched a campaign, achieving brilliant victories.
