Origin Story
It is said that during the Tang Dynasty, there was a poet named Li Bai, who loved reading since childhood, especially historical stories. One day, he read a book about Zhuge Liang during the Three Kingdoms period. The book detailed Zhuge Liang's story from the Three Visits to the Straw Hut to the final Northern Expedition, from his knowledge of the three-way division of the world before leaving his hut to his final death at Wuzhang Plain; every detail was explained very clearly. Li Bai read with great interest. After he finished reading, he was not only impressed by Zhuge Liang's wisdom and strategy but also had a deeper understanding of the causes and effects of historical events. He sighed: 'History is like a huge painting, each event has its causes and effects. Only by understanding the causes and effects can you understand the mysteries of history.' From then on, Li Bai paid more attention to observation and thought, and when he created poems, he was also good at unfolding the narrative from the perspective of cause and effect, writing many popular masterpieces.
