Origin Story
During the Western Han Dynasty, the traitor Dong Xian wielded power, and Emperor Ai of the Han Dynasty favored him excessively. The officials dared not speak their minds. The Grand Supervisor Wang Jia boldly spoke out, denouncing Dong Xian's crimes and calling him a 'person condemned by thousands'. This enraged Emperor Ai, leading to Wang Jia's demotion. Though Wang Jia’s outcome was unfortunate, his outspokenness and exposure of the powerful official's evil deeds won him posthumous admiration. The story of 'a thousand fingers pointing', serves as a warning that we must dare to say no to evil, and persist in justice even under great pressure.
