Origin Story
In the Tang Dynasty, there was a poet named Li Bai. He traveled all over the country, and created many popular poems. Once, he passed a small village, and was warmly invited to the house of an old farmer. The old farmer told Li Bai his whole life story, from his youth working in the fields, to his middle age as a merchant, and finally his retirement to the countryside. He described every detail of his life, the happiness and hardships, telling the story in its entirety. Li Bai listened with great interest, and drew inspiration from it for his creative work. Later he wrote the famous poem "Returning to the fields". The old farmer’s story, like an unfolding picture scroll, clearly showed his life, without any omissions, this is the true meaning of "Yuan Yuan Ben Ben".
