否极泰来 Fǔjí Tàilái

Origin Story
话说唐朝时期，有一个名叫李白的书生，他从小就才华横溢，梦想成为一代诗仙。然而，命运弄人，他屡试不第，仕途坎坷，贫困潦倒，饱受世人的冷嘲热讽。他常常独自一人坐在江边，望着波光粼粼的江水，心中充满了失落和彷徨。一次，他喝得酩酊大醉，醉倒在江边的草地上。朦胧中，他做了一个梦，梦见自己乘着小舟，在茫茫的大海上漂流，身边围绕着各种各样的妖魔鬼怪，风浪一次次将他推向绝境。就在他绝望之际，突然间风平浪静，海面上出现了一座金碧辉煌的宫殿，宫殿里住着一位慈祥的老者，老者对他说：“年轻人，你的才华已经达到了巅峰，否极泰来，你的好运就要来了。”李白猛然惊醒，心中豁然开朗。他重拾信心，继续创作，最终成为了唐朝最伟大的诗人之一，他的诗篇流传千古，名垂青史。
In the Tang Dynasty, there lived a scholar named Li Bai, who was incredibly talented from a young age and dreamed of becoming a great poet. Fate, however, had other plans; he repeatedly failed the imperial examinations, his career was fraught with setbacks, and he lived in poverty, subject to ridicule and scorn. He often sat alone by the river, gazing at the shimmering water, his heart filled with disappointment and uncertainty. One time, he fell into a deep slumber by the riverbank after having become drunk. In his dream, he found himself adrift on a vast ocean in a small boat, surrounded by all manner of monsters and spirits, and the waves repeatedly pushed him toward ruin. Just as he was losing hope, suddenly the sea became calm, and a magnificent palace appeared on the water’s surface. Inside dwelled a kind old man, who said to him, “Young man, your talent has reached its peak. The tide will soon turn, and your good fortune is about to arrive.” Li Bai woke up abruptly, his mind suddenly clear. He regained his confidence and resumed writing. Eventually, he became one of the greatest poets of the Tang Dynasty. His poems have been passed down through the ages and immortalized him.

否极泰来常用来形容困境后出现的转机，或者坏事结束后好事的到来。多用于表达一种积极乐观的态度，以及对未来美好的期许。
The idiom Fǔjí Tàilái is often used to describe a turning point after hardship, or the arrival of good things after bad things have ended. It is mostly used to express a positive and optimistic attitude, as well as expectations for a bright future.
